We are offering EN19 Steel Round Bar.
It is a low-alloy steel that may be heat treated to produce tensile strengths of the order of 70 tons/sq.in.in small sections, 55 tons/sq.in. in medium sections, and 4S tons/sq.in. in fairly large sections, combined with good ductility and resistance to shock.
In the hardened and tempered condition, this 1 percent chromium-molybdenum steel possesses good resistance to wear, which may be considerably increased by flame or induction hardening.
EN19 may also be used as a nitriding steel and for elevated or low-temperature applications.
This steel can be used as an alternative to the 3 to 3.5 percent nickel steel for sections up to 4 in.
The tempering range to produce similar tensile strengths is higher than that for the nickel steel giving greater reduction in the internal stress when heat treated to high tensile strengths.
